Certified Flight Instructor Single Engine

After receiving your Commercial Rating you're now ready to make money flying. Becoming a Certificated Flight Instructor (CFI) is a great way to offset the cost of flying. By teaching others to fly you can make money and build up hours as you work towards additional rating or enjoy a fun and exciting job teaching other aviation enthusiasts the power of flight.

The Certified Flight Instructor Course qualifies you to instruct in single engine aircraft. This course of training is highly structured and comprehensively designed to prepare commercial pilots for their role as flight instructors. The CFI rating requires 25 hours of flight time as well as proficiency in the Fundamentals of Instructing. Instructors must be current and knowledgable in all aspects of the aircraft they will be teaching.

Ground school training includes all of the subject areas included in the Private and Commercial programs including; the learning process; elements of effective teaching; student evaluation; course development; lesson planning; psychology of learning; night training techniques; classroom instruction techniques; maintaining student records; and authorizations and limitations.

Flight training syllabus includes performance and analysis of standard training and procedures and maneuvers as outlined in the relevant FAA Practical Test Standards; stall awareness; spin entry; spin recovery techniques; preparation of student plans; evaluation of student flight performance; effective preflight and post flight instruction; analysis and correction of common student pilot flight errors; and instructor responsibilities.

Minimum Required Hours

Flight Training: 25 hours minimum

Ground School: 40 hours minimum
