FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
BUSINESS AVIATION AWARDED TRIPLE-CROWN APPOINTMENT BY THE CESSNA AIRCRAFT COMPANY
Business Aviation just achieved a triple-crown award from the Cessna Aircraft Company recognizing the Sioux Falls based business as the region's leader in general aviation and air commerce. Cessna, the world's leading manufacturer of light business aircraft, simultaneously designated Business Aviation an authorized Single Engine Service Station, a Cessna Sales Team Authorized Representative (CSTAR), and a Cessna Pilot Center during the month of August.
Dale Froehlich, president of Business Aviation said the new sales and service association with Cessna lays the groundwork for the revival of light general aviation in the entire greater plains region. "The Dakotas have a strong and vibrant history in aviation, and it's our responsibility along with Cessna to rebuild the light aircraft business for our future." Business Aviation has experienced tremendous growth in recent years, and according to Froehlich, "The new relationship with Cessna adds greater momentum to our plans. The future is very bright indeed!"
Most recently, Business Aviation officials and staff instructors flew to the Cessna Aircraft factory in Independence, Kansas, and took delivery of the first new aircraft to join their fleet since the 1980's. The two brand new planes, 1998 Cessna Skyhawks, were placed into immediate service with Business Aviation's Cessna Pilot Center, better known as the Business Aviation School of Aeronautics.
To announce the new aircraft and kick-off of expanded flight school operations, the Business Aviation School of Aeronautics will host a Cessna Pilot Center Grand Opening, Saturday, August 29, 1998, with main events scheduled between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. Steve Wilson, Director of Flight School Operations, said, "Our flight school is everyone's opportunity to discover the world of flight, whether or not they want to become a pilot. Everyone, young and old, is invited out to see our new airplanes and sample our brand new Computer Based Instruction. The Grand Opening is a great event for the entire family."
Activities planned for the Grand Opening include Discovery Flights for only $35, aircraft static displays, demonstrations of computer-based flight instruction, and demonstartions of the pilot's weather briefing station. Certified flight instructors and other pilots will be on hand to talk and answer questions. Scheduled events include a special appearance of "Buttons the Clown", Air Age Education with Sylvia Henkin, and other special seminars dedicated for anyone interested in airplanes and learning to fly! Special tours of airport facilities are also planned, including an opportunity to visit the NOAA National Weather Service station.
